It takes around £60,000 a year to run SAMs Club. If you can help us either with sponsorship or donations it would be truly appreciated.  In return, we will help promote your business through our website and Social Media.  We also send unique ‘Thank You’ cards that will light up any workplace. And remember that by going through our 'justgiving' page more can be given by claiming the gift aid.

Thank  you in advance from all at SAMs for all that you can assist us with.

latest fundraising event - February 2024

To celebrate pancake day on Tuesday 13 February we teamed up with the amazing Stack and Still in Glasgow. Stack and Still is a pancake restaurant chain and they were happy to invite us along to their Glasgow city centre restaurant on pancake day to raise awareness of the charity and spread the word on what we do. SAMs club raised over £500 in donations from Stack and Still and their customers! We even got to try a few of their delicious pancakes too! Thanks again Stack and Still for your donation and the opportunity.

donate through amazon

As of September 2020, SAMS is now registered with Smile Amazon. This means we can benefit from 0.5% on eligible purchases. If you use Amazon for purchases, please check out smileamazon.co.uk and look for SAMS SCIO. By doing this, you may be able to help our charity simply from doing your online shopping on Amazon! Let’s spread the word!

A THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SPONSORS

SAMs works really hard to raise funds for all that we achieve and for all the families we support.  Without the kind assistance and donations from so many people, trusts and organisations, we wouldn’t be able to do the work that we do.  To this end we sincerely thank you for all your efforts throughout each year.  All donations to SAMS go a long way in helping to support our monthly clubs, funding our caravan, funding our annual holiday and of course paying for all the equipment that we really need.

  • Grants and Donations - These are far too many to mention and note on one page but as part of our operations we are constantly applying for grants and donations from many amazing foundations, organisations and charities to help support us. For a list of the contributors and how we spend our money please feel free to view the accounts which are made public, every year, through OSCR. Without these amazing awards and donations we would never be able to do what we do and we are eternally grateful for them

NOTE: HOW YOUR DONATIONS CAN HELP

A donation of £600.00 would pay for a family’s accommodation (for up to 4 people) for 4 nights while a further £40.00 will ensure a child enjoys all the activities offered during the week, eg kayaking and boat trips - along with a little juice ice cream as it is thirsty work on those boats.  And let us not forget the hard work and commitment from the volunteers who give up their own valuable time to run, organise and deliver all that we can throughout the year, spending hours and hours in providing all manner of activities we can for the families during the clubs and holiday.  A donation of £600.00 will cover 3 volunteer's accommodation for the 4 nights to help support the families.  And without such great volunteer's SAMs would never exist.

A donation of £50.00 would help pay for a family to use either of our caravans for free for the night, where both sleep up to 6 people. While we don’t charge members for use of the caravan this would be the estimated charges for a night’s use based on the approximate yearly charges to run each one. Thankfully we have so much great support that we can offer this for free and long may it continue; giving more families more opportunities for respite and short breaks.

Training Days

To ensure all our volunteers have the rights skills to deliver the best care possible we organise events as and when we can.  A special thanks to Cara who organises the courses with an outstanding range of activities to help raise awareness of the different needs of those in our care during the trips away.  Training includes the awareness of Gastronomy Care, Epilepsy, Asthma and Sleep Apnoea.  This is invaluable and works great with previous training on use of the Hoist, Peg-Feeding, Sleeping Ventilation Equipment, Basic CPR and Choking Issues, along with some fantastic new PODD Training.
